Lost Wedding Ring Recovery in Houston, Texas
The Texas summer continues to remind us just how unforgiving the heat can be. As I mentioned in a recent recovery story, much of Texas has been under extreme heat warnings, and today was certainly no exception. As I drove to today's recovery, the outside temperature displayed on my truck read 109 degrees. In weather like this, almost every outdoor activity seems to involve water—and unfortunately, many lost rings do as well.
I received a call from James, a Houston resident, who explained that he had lost his wedding ring while cooling off with his dogs in the front yard of his home.
A Hot Day, Cool Water, and a Missing Wedding Ring
James explained that he had been washing his dogs in the front yard to help them escape the intense Texas heat. Like many of us, he was trying to stay cool himself, and between the hose, soap, and plenty of water, everyone was enjoying a much-needed break from the scorching temperatures.

Later that day, James realized his wedding ring was missing. After thinking back through the day's activities, he quickly concluded that washing the dogs was the most likely time and place where the ring had slipped from his finger.
