This week, I had the privilege of traveling to Jamestown, New York, to present a specialized Forensic Evidence Recovery training course for an outstanding group of law enforcement professionals. As an instructor with TRITECH Forensics, it is always rewarding to work alongside dedicated officers and investigators who are committed to improving their crime scene investigation skills and expanding their knowledge of forensic evidence recovery.

The training brought together representatives from several respected agencies throughout western New York, including the Jamestown Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department, Ellicott Police Department, and the Lakewood-Busti Police Department. Throughout the course, each participant demonstrated exceptional professionalism, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to mastering the techniques required to locate and recover critical forensic evidence.

Recovering evidence at a crime scene is much more than simply operating a metal detector. Successful evidence recovery requires understanding search strategies, scene preservation, detector selection, target identification, proper search patterns, and documentation. Whether searching for shell casings, fired projectiles, knives, firearms, or other metallic evidence, the ability to conduct a systematic search can make a significant difference in the outcome of a criminal investigation. The enthusiasm and engagement shown by every attendee made this class especially enjoyable. Through classroom instruction and practical field exercises, these officers strengthened the skills necessary to locate difficult forensic evidence efficiently and accurately. Based on their performance during the training, I have no doubt they will return to their agencies better prepared to support future criminal investigations and critical incident responses.

I would like to sincerely thank the Jamestown Police Department for hosting this outstanding training opportunity, as well as every agency that participated. It is always encouraging to see law enforcement agencies invest in specialized forensic training that ultimately benefits both investigators and the communities they serve.

I would also like to extend my appreciation to TRITECH Forensics for the opportunity to travel throughout the United States, working with outstanding law enforcement professionals and sharing specialized forensic evidence recovery techniques. One of the unexpected rewards of this profession is the opportunity to experience different parts of our country. During my stay in New York, I was fortunate enough to make a short trip to Niagara Falls, one of North America's most iconic natural landmarks. It was another memorable highlight of an already outstanding week.

Thank you again to everyone who attended the class. It was an honor to work with such a professional group, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact this training will have on future crime scene investigations.
